Kitsap Transportation Priorities Project

2010
Countywide transportation stakeholders came together in 2010 to discuss long-range transportation priorities for Kitsap and the project list included in the Pugest Sound Regional Council's Transportation 2040 Plan. An inital report, "Kitsap County Major Corridor & Multi-Modal Improvements through 2040," was released by the KRCC in June, 2010. The work is set to continue through the KRCC Transportation Committees in 2011.

Kitsap County Major Corridor & Multi-Modal Improvements through 2040

2005
During 2005, the Transportation Committees developed an overview of available transportation funding sources and a list of regionally-significant transportation projects throughout Kitsap County. Its purpose is to provide an overview of Kitsap transportation needs.

Kitsap Multi-Modal
Transportation Plan:

Phase I Assessment

During 2012, the KRCC
Transportation Committees
will undertake the initial
phase of a Countywide Multi-Modal Transportation Plan. This phase
will include scoping for the next
phase of the plan (currently unfunded).
Policy makers agree that this is critical, necessary work, which holds much opportunity for Kitsap.

In July 2011, KRCC was awarded
$125,000 in federal transportation funds for Phase I of the Plan, with additional seed money ($75,000)
from Kitsap Transit.
