Non Motorized Transportation

Kitsap County and each of the Cities has its own non-motorized plan. In 2007 the Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council compiled a Countywide Non-Motorized Transportation Plan which was updated in 2009.

Looking For Linkage: Non- Motorized Facilities in Kitsap County

An ad hoc Trails Committee was convened by the Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council during 2009 and 2010. Their findings, along with a set of policy recommendations are contained in the report 'Looking for Linkage: Non-Motorized Facilities in Kitsap County' (11MB file). The report was presented to the Transportation Policy Board in Spring 2010 and to elected officials countywide June 2010.

Kitsap Complete Streets Leadership Forum

In June, 2011, over 100 members of the community gathered for this event, which was co-sponsored by the Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council (KRCC), Kitsap County Health District, Washington State Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Washington Coalition for Promoting Physical Activity (WCPPA).
