Public Records Requests

Nearly all records in our offices are public records and copies may be requested by members of the public. However, Washington law says some information in those records has to be removed before the records can be released. Our office accepts record requests, removes exempt information, and provides the records to the public.

How do I file a public records request?

You can call, write or email your request using the Public Information Request Form, available here:

How will KRCC respond to my request?

We will send you a response within five (5) business days of receiving your request. We will respond in one of the following ways:

  • Acknowledge that we have received the request. We will provide a reasonable estimate of the time required to complete your request. We may ask clarifying questions in our response, with a requested reply date included.
  • Provide the record(s) requested electronically at no charge. Non-electronic delivery may incur a copying fee.
  • Deny the public record request. The response will include the specific reason for the denial.

Is there a cost to get records?

Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council's records are electronic. You will be mailed a CD containing the appropriate electronic files at no charge. If you require printed files there is a minimum copy fee of $.15 cents per page. You will be required to pay the fee prior to release of the requested files. If you wish to review the files in our office at no charge, you must make an appointment with our Public Records Officer.
