Collaboration on Kitsap's transportation planning is a primary responsibility among the Council's
member agencies. In addition, the Council is responsible for allocating certain federal
transportation funds to projects within Kitsap County. To accomplish this, the Kitsap Regional
Coordinating Council has evolved and adopted a Transportation Program Structure.

Transportation Program Chart
The Transportation Program relies on two established transportation committees:
The Transportation Policy Committee includes representatives from each of the Council's member agencies,
representatives to the Puget Sound Regional Council and Peninsula Regional Transportation Planning
Organization, Kitsap Transit, and (extended participation -- quarterly) the four Kitsap Ferry Advisory
Committees. This committee usually meets monthly and makes recommendations to the full Kitsap Regional
Coordinating Council Board for review and action.

The Transportation Technical Advisory Committee includes each jurisdiction's Transportation Planning
Director and representatives from Kitsap Transit, Regional, and WA State transportation agencies. This
Committee usually meets monthly to share information, develop proposed recommendations for review by the
Transportation Policy Committee, and collaborate on more efficient ways to provide services to residents
throughout Kitsap County.
